What Ahead of the Curve: Ula'tek asks for
Every raid tier comes with an Ahead of the Curve achievement for players who beat it on Heroic while it is still the current tier. In Midnight Season 2 that achievement is Ahead of the Curve: Ula'tek. The condition fits in one line: Ula'tek, the boss of The Venomous Abyss that gives the achievement its name, has to die on Heroic or a harder difficulty before the season is over.
Why players want the AOTC boost
The achievement is shown on your character's profile, and many raid groups look for it before inviting someone. It also has an expiry date: after Season 2 nobody can earn this one anymore, while every character that got it in time keeps it. Our raid teams already know the Ula'tek encounter, so the kill lands on your character without you having to build a Heroic group first.
How we sell it
One order: the 8/8 Heroic run
The achievement is attached to our complete Heroic clear of The Venomous Abyss, and Ula'tek is one of its eight bosses. So the figure shown up top is for a whole raid, not a single kill, and every boss on the way gives you a chance at Heroic gear. The Venomous Abyss Heroic boost page goes through that run and its loot choices in detail.
Shorter Heroic runs do not include it
Heroic is also sold as a 6/8 run and as a two-boss run. Neither of them is listed with the achievement. If the achievement is why you are buying, take the 8/8.
Loot on an AOTC order
Eight Heroic bosses mean eight rounds of drops, so it pays to decide how they are shared. Plain group loot comes with the order. Paid upgrades put more boosters in your armor type into the group, or send a named number of items per boss straight to you. Pick it now rather than later: once these bosses are down for your character on Heroic, they have nothing more for you before the weekly reset.
Getting ready for the run
Self-play means you are in the group and inside the raid from start to finish, so keep the evening free. Piloted means one of our boosters logs in as you: settle the time in the order chat, then stay offline until the team says it is done. With remote control, the booster plays through a session on your own computer instead.
Is Mythic worth it just for AOTC?
Mythic also counts, since the requirement is Heroic or above. We sell Mythic only as the bundle with Tidebound Grotto, and a complete 8/8 there includes Ula'tek too. Still, it is a much bigger purchase aimed at Mythic gear. For the achievement by itself, weigh it against the Heroic run. All our other raid carries are on the WoW raid boost page.
AOTC carry: common questions
What do I get with an AOTC boost?
The Ahead of the Curve: Ula'tek achievement, earned while our team clears The Venomous Abyss on Heroic with you, plus your chance at that clear's Heroic loot. Some people call it an AOTC carry.
Which boss counts for AOTC in Season 2?
Ula'tek. Beat Ula'tek on Heroic or harder inside The Venomous Abyss before Midnight Season 2 ends.
Is AOTC included with the 6/8 or 2/2 Heroic runs?
No. Only the 8/8 carries the achievement in its listing, so choose that one. The shorter runs cover part of the raid and nothing more.
Does killing Ula'tek on Mythic count?
It does, because anything from Heroic upward qualifies. Mythic comes only inside the Tidebound Grotto bundle, where the full 8/8 includes Ula'tek, but for AOTC alone Heroic is the easier purchase.
Can I still get Ahead of the Curve: Ula'tek once the season ends?
No. It is bound to Midnight Season 2 and closes with it. A character that earns it before then keeps it.
